Karen Hutchinson

Dr Karen Hutchinson is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Australian Institute of Health Innovation at Macquarie University. She completed a PhD at the University of Sydney in 2018 taking a social model perspective to explore the lived experiences of families impacted by younger onset dementia, including the experiences of children and young people. Her current research is exploring the experiences of families living with parental uncontrolled epilepsy, and the roles and responsibilities of epilepsy nurses in Australia. She is very interested in integrated care, implementation science, socially focused, person and family centred models of care. Dr Hutchinson is also a Physiotherapist with many years of clinical experience working with adults living with complex and chronic neurological conditions.
